Glentoran Women have been drawn against Latvian champions Riga FC Women in the First Qualifying Round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The draw, which took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon on Thursday afternoon, paired Kim Turner’s side with Riga FC Women as the Glens discovered their opponents for the opening stage of their 2026/27 European campaign.

The Glens entered the draw as a seeded club for the first time in their history, becoming the first women’s team from Northern Ireland to achieve seeded status in UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying.

The competition will once again be played in a mini-tournament format. The semi-finals are scheduled for Wednesday 22nd July, with the final and third-place play-off taking place on Saturday 25th July.

Should Glentoran overcome Riga FC Women in the semi-final, they will progress to the final where they would face either FC Pyunik Women of Armenia or Wrexham AFC Women of Wales for a place in the next round of the competition.

UEFA will confirm the host venue, kick-off times and ticketing arrangements in due course.

Supporters are reminded that travel and accommodation should not be booked until official fixture details have been confirmed.
