Glentoran Women 3-1 Sion Swifts

Mon, 12/09/2022 - 23:28

Glentoran Women continued their domestic winning run tonight with a hard fought home win over Sion Swifts at Ashfield.

Glens opened the scoring after 17 minutes through the prolific Kerry Beattie, but the sides went into the break even after a Kerry Brown equaliser for Swifts,

The second half was an even agffair until international forward Caragh Hamilton put the Glens in front with 15 minutes to go. Debutant recent signing Imogen Lancaster made the game safe with her first Glens goal with 8 minutes left.

The Glens remain eight points behind Cliftonville in the Danske Bank Women's Premiership, having played a game more. Glens next game is away to Crusaders Strikers at Seaview on Wednesday 21st September.
