Glentoran Football Club will mark Remembrance this evening at the second-round BetMcLean Cup tie against Crusaders at The BetMcLean Oval (kick-off: 7.45 pm), as part of a week of tributes honouring the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community.

Ahead of kick-off, players and officials from both clubs will take part in an Act of Remembrance. Wreaths will be laid on the pitch by Glentoran Chairman Colin Jess and Crusaders Chairman Mark Langhammer, followed by a minute’s silence.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive at their seats by 7.30pm to pay their respects before the fixture gets underway.

Remembrance commemorations will continue this weekend when Glentoran travel to Mourneview Park to face Glenavon in the Sports Direct Premiership on Saturday 8th November.

A Remembrance service will take place at the ground at 2.00pm, with all supporters welcome to attend. Prior to kick-off, a wreath-laying ceremony will also take place as both clubs remember those who have given their lives in service of others.

The club’s traditional Remembrance Day Service will take place at 11.00am on Tuesday 11th November at The BetMcLean Oval.

The service, beginning at 10.45am, will be conducted by Rev. Jonny Frazer, and will include wreath laying at the club’s memorial, accompanied by a piper and bugler.

Supporters and members of the community are warmly invited to attend from 10.30am.
