The Glentoran Social Partnership has completed its latest Meal Drive delivery, providing over 300 freshly prepared meals to vulnerable residents, community groups and support organisations across East Belfast.

This week’s Meal Drive, delivered as part of the expanded programme introduced following the initiative’s relaunch in October, provided support to a wide range of local groups and individuals across East Belfast.

More than 170 hot meals were delivered directly to residents on Glentoran’s community support list, with additional freshly prepared meals supplied to the newly formed Titanic Area Community Group.

Further distributions were made to two established East Belfast community organisations, along with a domestic violence support group, ensuring vital assistance reached some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

The latest batch of meals reflects the impact of the Meal Drive initiative since it was relaunched in October, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, club staff, partners and supporters.

Colin Jess, Chairman of Glentoran, said: “The Meal Drive continues to demonstrate the power of football to bring real and meaningful support to our community. This latest delivery is another example of what can be achieved when volunteers, supporters and partner organisations come together with compassion and purpose.”

“At a time when many people are facing real challenges, being able to provide a hot meal can make a genuine difference. I want to thank our volunteers, who give their time so generously to prepare and distribute these meals every week and to the community groups and partner organisations who work alongside us to ensure support reaches those who need it most.”

The Meal Drive sits at the heart of club’s award-winning Glentoran Social Partnership, which generates an estimated £2.9 million in annual social value, delivering a diverse range of health, wellbeing and inclusion-focused initiatives each year across East Belfast and beyond.

The club’s community commitment has been recognised at the highest level, having recently won Club Community Initiative of the Year at the 2025 NIFL Football Awards, alongside the Community Impact Award at the 2024 EastSide Awards.
