Glentoran Football Club will open its gates to the community on Saturday 26th July for a family-friendly and inclusive Community Carnival at the BetMcLean Oval, taking place ahead of our pre-season fixture against English side Chester FC.

Hosted by the Glentoran Social Partnership and supported by Choice Housing through the Shared Housing Programme, this free family open day kicks off at 12noon, transforming The BetMcLean Oval into a lively festival of fun, music, food and activity all in the build-up to the match kicking-off at 2.00pm kick-off.

The Community Carnival will feature a wide range of entertainment and activities designed for all ages. Families can enjoy live music, performances and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day, creating a fun, welcoming and inclusive experience for all.

Children will be well catered for with bouncy castles and interactive games, while supporters of all ages will have the chance to meet Glentoran first-team players during dedicated meet and greet sessions.

A selection of on-site food vendors and refreshments will be available, helping to keep energy levels high as the event builds towards the afternoon’s footballing action.

Entry to the pre-season fixture between Glentoran and Chester FC at 2.00pm is completely free, offering fans a brilliant opportunity to support the team while enjoying a fantastic day out.

Colin Jess, Chairman of Glentoran Football Club, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Choice Housing for their generous support in helping us deliver the Community Carnival. This event is all about bringing people together and creating a safe, inclusive space where families and individuals from all backgrounds feel welcome and valued.

“It forms a key part of the Glentoran Social Partnership’s ongoing outreach work and reflects our shared commitment to building stronger, healthier communities through the power of football.

“It’s also a fantastic opportunity to bring the club closer to the community to open up The BetMcLean Oval, to let supporters and local residents meet the players and to create a real sense of connection between the club and the people we represent.
