Glentoran Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong supporter Rodney Kelly, aged 79.
A familiar and much-loved face at The BetMcLean Oval, Rodney followed the Glens home and away for decades, and was known for rarely missing a match until he took unwell.”
Even in hospital, Rodney took comfort in talking about Glentoran, reminiscing on the old days, the mighty G-Force and Terry Conroy, and speaking proudly about his all-time favourite players Gary McCartney and Johnny Jamison.
Rodney’s passion for this Club will be missed and his absence will be felt by all who shared matchdays with him.
The thoughts of everyone at Glentoran Football Club are with Rodney’s family and friends at this difficult time.
