Glentoran Legends

Thu, 01/08/2013 - 09:08

Next Sunday the Glentoran Legends will be off on their travels again.

This time they travel to Scotland to face a Scottish Junior FA Old Crocks XI in a charity game in aid of the Butterfly Club, a special club for handicapped and special needs children in the North Ayrshire area.
The man behind the game is former Glentoran forward Derek Cook and this will be the second time that the Glentoran Legends have made the journey to Stevenston to support the charity.

This time last year a similar game was held and £6000 was raised both on the day and by the support of local businesses. Both sides will play for the Butterfly Club Challenge Trophy, which the Glentoran Legends currently hold as they won the trophy last year.

The result though is secondary on the day as the raising of much needed funds for the charity is the important thing.
