Glentoran launches new Community Champions campaign

Glentoran Football Club in partnership with the Glentoran Social Partnership has launched a new monthly campaign to recognise those making a meaningful difference across East Belfast and beyond.

Glentoran Community Champions celebrates the schools, sports teams, youth organisations, community groups, volunteers and supporters whose work deserves wider recognition.

Each month, starting in October, one successful nominee will be invited to enjoy a special matchday experience at The BetMcLean Oval.

They will receive complimentary tickets and food for their group, together with the opportunity to meet a Glentoran first-team player and have a photograph taken to mark the occasion.

Colin Jess, Chairperson of Glentoran, said: “I’m delighted we’re launching Glentoran Community Champions. We want to open our doors to more of the people and organisations who make this area what it is.

“Inviting them to a match is a small gesture, but I hope it shows how much we value the work they do and the part they play in the life of our community.”

Leanne Dawson, Glentoran’s Operations Manager, said: “So much good work happens quietly in our schools, clubs and community groups. We’d love supporters to tell us about the people behind it.

“We want to hear what they’ve done, why it matters and what a day at the Oval would mean to them. We’re looking forward to meeting our first Community Champion in October.”

Each Community Champion and their story will be featured across the Club’s official website and social media channels.

To nominate an individual or organisation as Glentoran’s Community Champion for October, email Leanne Dawson at operations@glentoran.com by 5pm on Monday 12 October. Tell us who they are, the difference they have made and why they deserve to be recognised.
