Saturday was the last of our matchday collections for FOOD items BUT if you still have food donations please leave them at the Westbourne GSC. Solway Street. Newtownards Road. Open 7 days per week.
Today we have been approached by a local church to see if we can offer some help. We have some items left over that will make up some hampers but the more the better, if further donations come in.
What we still need is as many NEW toys as possible! We have a list of 67 children within the immediate vicinity of the Oval who the church has identified as being from a disadvantaged home. We have approximately 22 toys donated already. So if you haven't made a donation yet and wish to do so please drop in the toy or cash donation to the Westbourne.
So far our food and cash donations have covered…
- Help towards approx 800 food hampers in conjunction with East Belfast Mission.
- Pensioners Christmas Dinner for approx 70 pensioners.
- Kids Christmas cinema/party night for approx 80 kids.
- Over 200 gifts / survival packs for the homeless community/ hostels.
- 50 hampers to local churches.
- Our kids Christmas Gift Appeal that will help children of all ages up to 18 years old.
This could not be possible without you all and we are extremely grateful. Through your help and generosity, Glentoran FC will be touching so many hearts this year and putting a smile on many deserving faces.
Also 3 Glentoran ladies will be camping outside the oval gates on Sunday 9th December 2018 from 2pm Sunday until 2pm Monday to raise funds and awareness for the homeless. They will have collection buckets.
Please drop by and say hello to the girls and if you have any donations they will gladly accept them.
We will be visiting the hostels and hitting the streets on Sunday 23rd December armed with gifts and survival packs. Our Pensioners Christmas Dinner, Wednesday 12th December at Westbourne GSC.
The Children’s Christmas Party, Thursday 13th December at the Oval.
