It’s that time of year again when the volunteer organisers of the Glentoran Christmas Appeal need your help!
This year the appeal organisers plan to deliver the Glentoran Christmas Appeal slightly differently. This year the appeal aims to help not only the city’s homeless, but also those less fortunate than ourselves in the East Belfast area.
Please donate if you can and do not wrap your gifts.
Collection for all items will be held as follows:
- Home matches - in the main car park at the matches on Monday 6 November, Saturday 11 November, Saturday 25 November, Saturday 9 December.
- Glentoran Superstore – Thursday evenings (4pm - 8pm)
- Beep Beeps Ice Cream Parlour, 254 Newtownards Road Belfast
Homeless
Please donate the following items – male and female gift sets e.g. Lynx, Dove, Impulse, boxes of chocolates or large bars of chocolate. These will be individually wrapped and donated to Stella Maris and The Welcome Centre for distribution.
Haven Outreach
This is a Homeless feeding station in Belfast. They provide hot food and drinks (Tea /coffee etc) and our support will help with supplies for this for the forthcoming months.
Items to donate – Tea Bags, Jars of Coffee, Hot Chocolate, crisps, Chocolate bars, jars of cooking sauces, rice and pasta.
Hampers for the senior citizens and local community members
Items to donate – non-perishable food items including tins of soup, tuna, salmon, beans, peas, fruit etc. Packets of custard, biscuits, sugar, rice. Christmas goods such as Christmas cake, pudding, shortbread, crackers, mince pies etc. Also boxes of chocolates, Shloer, etc.
These hampers will then be distributed through a number of local churches.
