Glentoran Academy has announced increased investment in Veo, the world’s leading AI-powered camera solution, as part of the club’s drive to further professionalise its academy football operations.
The investment will see the introduction of five new state-of-the-art Veo cameras that will equip the Glens’ Academy with elite-level training and match analysis tools to nurture the next generation of youth talent.
By integrating Veo’s cutting-edge platform, the Glentoran Academy ensures its set-up mirrors the high-performance environment of the club’s first team squad under Declan Devine and helps prepare young talent for the demands of professional football.
These state-of-the-art Veo cameras automatically track and zoom using advanced AI technology, recording every training session and match in HD quality, without the need for a dedicated camera operator.
The footage not only provides Academy coaches with insights for tailoring individual and team-based training programmes, but also streamlines post-match analysis to identify areas of improvement and progress.
Michael Jackson, Glentoran Academy Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be further investing in Veo. This cutting-edge technology underlines our commitment to providing an elite environment to nurture talent and cultivate excellence on and off the pitch. Many of our academy players aim to play professionally – whether by breaking through at Glentoran or moving on to a professional academy – and the Veo cameras are a key part of the support system we provide to help them reach that goal.
“The AI-powered cameras record every training session and match in detail, allowing our players to see exactly what they need to work on in terms of tactical awareness, technical proficiency, and overall performance.
“Additionally, it’s not just about improving their on-pitch skills and tactics; it’s also about giving our players the exposure they need to be noticed by scouts across the UK and further afield. High-quality match footage shared with clubs has already helped several of our players transition from academy football to full-time environments, and these new Veo cameras will further boost their visibility to professional teams in Scotland, England, and beyond.”
