Glentoran Women underlined their title credentials with a ruthless 8–0 victory over Lisburn Ladies at the Blanchflower Stadium.
The Glens were relentless from the outset, racing into a five-goal lead by half-time. Aimee Kerr broke the deadlock with a composed finish on 16 minutes before Faye Loughran – recently named NIFWA Women’s Player of the Month for July – doubled the advantage midway through the half. Emma McMaster added a third soon after with a neat strike from distance, while Kascie Weir and a second for Kerr ensured the points were effectively sealed before the interval.
The champions showed no signs of slowing after the break. Emily Wilson added her name to the scoresheet shortly after the restart, with Demi Vance converting from close range to make it seven. Substitute Sophie McKnight rounded off the scoring late on with a fine individual finish to cap a dominant display.
Glentoran’s attacking quality proved too much for their visitors, with the result maintaining their grip at the top of the table and further strengthening their pursuit of back-to-back league titles.
