The club is very pleased to announce that Rhys Walsh has signed for Sky Bet Championship club Sunderland.
Rhys (17) is the perfect example of a Glentoran Academy graduate, having joined the academy as a 10-year-old and developed through the ranks to make his first team debut last season in a 4-1 away win over Ards in the County Antrim Shield. Since then Rhys has made 8 appearances in total, most recently in last week’s Shield Final at Seaview.

Tomorrow evening we travel to Lisburn to face Ballymacash Rangers in the sixth round of the Clearer Water Irish Cup. This will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides.
Kirk McLaughlin has returned from a very successful loan spell with Institute in the PlayrFit Championship. He he has scored 13 goals in 28 games as ‘stute have risen to the top of the table. Striker Kirk (19) joined us from Coleraine in the summer of 2022 and scored twice in his six games for the club in his debut season. Warren Feeney said of Kirk’s return “I’ve watched Kirk play for Institute this season and he’s done very well in a very good side. His individual goal v Dundela a couple of weeks ago was a bit special and rightly got a lot of attention.
Ballymacash Rangers will be running an outdoor licensed Fanzone at Friday night's Clearer Water Irish Cup tie at the Bluebell Stadium, Lisburn. It will be open from 6pm and will be cash only. Glentoran supporters will be very welcome.

Glentoran supporters are asked to park in the designated parking area at Laurehill Sportszone and walk 750m following a marshalled route to The Bluebell.

The evening celebrated the best of East Belfast and was attended by many business leaders, politicians and community groups.
Bobby Burns made the best possible return to Seaview three months after his horror injury on our last visit, as his last-minute winner gave us all three points after a very hard-fought game.
Warren Feeney made just one change from our por3evious visit to Seaview last Tuesday night, as Ollie Webber started in goal in place of the injured Aaron McCarey
