Dungannon Swifts 0-1 Glentoran

Sat, 15/10/2016 - 20:58

Jonny Smith’s 90th minute penalty was enough to secure Glentoran’s first league win in 8 games and give Gary Haveron his first 3 points since taking charge. Glentoran were unchanged from last weekend’s draw with Ballinamallard Utd as they travelled to Stangmore Park to take on a confident Dungannon side who had score twelve goals in the space of a week. This was the first game of the second round of fixtures in this season's Danske Bank Premiership; the two sides met on the opening day of the season when Ciaran Caldwell scored the only goal of the game.

Glentoran 1 - 2 Linfield

Sat, 01/10/2016 - 17:20

Debutant Glentoran manager Gary Haveron and his side can count themselves unlucky not to have taken at least a point against old rivals Linfield at the Oval this afternoon.  For the second Saturday in a row it was a game of two halves for the Glens as they came storming back from a goal down at half time to take the game to Linfield.  Haveron made three changes to last week’s line up at Ballymena, bringing in Calum Birney, Marcus Kane and Ciaran Caldwell in place of Tiarnan McAuley, Ross Redman and Jonny Smith and pushing Steven Gordon up to support Curtis Allen in attack.
