Glens U18s poised for Championship push

Fri, 04/05/2018 - 15:20

Glentoran under 18s stand 90 minutes away from sealing the club's first league win at this age group since the team of John McGuigan and Jim O'Hanlon triumphed at the same level.

The Glens play their final league game of the season tonight at Allen Park in Antrim with an 8pm kick off against West Belfast side St. Oliver Plunkett FC.

Plunkett sit second in the league, just a point behind the Glens, effectively rendering the game a play off for the title.

Curtis' Red Card Upheld

Thu, 03/05/2018 - 20:21

The IFA Disciplinary this evening rejected Curtis Allen's appeal against the red card for the recent sending off against Dungannon Swifts when he was pulled to the ground and held down by two Swifts players. That means Curtis is suspended for three matches, including the forthcoming Europa League play offs. Curtis was supported in his appeal by three players who witnessed the whole incident.

If there are further updates they will be announced on this website.

Champions Again!

Tue, 01/05/2018 - 23:07

Glentoran Under14s this evening clinched their second NIBFA National League Title in a row with a 5-1 win away to Portadown.

The Glens travelled to Mid-Ulster knowing a point would see them over the line, but a double from Callum Marshall and goals from Jonny Russell, Matthew Carson and Dylan Sloan saw the Glens cruise to the title.

The Glens will go into May Day's NIBFA Cup final against Linfield as League Champions seeking to seal back to back doubles.

Well done to Jason Lindsay, his staff and players.

Charitable Donation from Glens Supporters

Tue, 01/05/2018 - 22:56

At our last home match of the season a collection of Glentoran supporters made a very generous and substantial donation to charity. The donation represented the proceeds of a match played on Sunday 21st March when the Freelance Loyal Glentoran Supporters Club played Glentoran Sydenham End  to raise money for Reverse Rett. The match was organised by the Baine family on behalf of Mia Baine. £3300 was raised on the day, a great effort by all involved.
