Glens touch down in Shropshire

Wed, 14/07/2021 - 16:59

The Glentoran first team squad arrived into Oswestry, via Liverpool Airport, this morning for our UEFA Europa Conference League First Qualifying Round Second Leg match with The New Saints.

Also joining the squad for the first time is striker Jordan Jenkins. Braniel lad Jordan (21), a lifelong Glenman, has joined the club on the expiry of his contract at Glenavon where he spent four seasons. He spent the second half of last season on loan to Danske Bank Premiership club Carrick Rangers.

Jordan had an outstanding goalscoring record at Academy level with both Ridgeway Rovers and Glenavon and has worked closely throughout his career so far with our Assistant Manager Paul Millar and Head of Player Development Andy Mathieson. So the senior coaching staff at Glentoran are very well aware of his abilities, as are we as Jordan scored the late winner against us in a 2-1 home defeat to Glenavon in October 2019.

Jordan is not eligible for tomorrow night’s tie but is quickly becoming acquainted with his new team mates. We will bring a full interview with Jordan once this round is completed.

Welcome to Glentoran, Jordan.
