Before Saturday’s opening match the club was very pleased to welcome onto the pitch and into the Boardroom our Super Cup NI players.
This year's tournament saw a record number of Glentoran players representing their Counties and Club NI at the prestigious annual tournament.
We had three players in the Antrim Premier Team with Sean Gallagher winning player of the tournament for Antrim.
Also in the premier competition we had five players selected for County Down who helped Down all the way to the Final.
Also in the Premier section we had a player selected for the National Select NI.
In the Junior section, four Glentoran players represented County Down with Joe Hopes and Scott Rollestone winning player of the tournament awards while our new signings Matty Lusty, Ben Hollinger and Lewis Davidson shared the Golden Boot.
We had two players, Bailie Hoy and Caolan McBride, who went on to win the Super Cup with County Antrim with Caolan banging in the winning penalty in the shoot out in the final against Manchester United
Also in the junior section we had 9 players selected to play for Club NI who competed a year up in the tournament.
Finally we are particularly proud of our very own 2005 team who played in the competition this season in the Minor section and went on to win the Super Cup Vase which is now proudly on display in the Oval along with the Junior SuperCup.
