Glens shine at NIFL Women’s Football Awards

Glentoran Women took centre stage at the inaugural NIFL Women’s Football Awards 2025 on Sunday evening, collecting four major honours in recognition of the Club’s exceptional achievements on and off the pitch this season.

Hosted at the Hilton Hotel Belfast, Glens Women’s Head Coach Kim Turner was named Rockshore Manager of the Year after guiding her side to the NIFL Women’s Premiership title.

Rising star Kascie Weir, 19, capped a remarkable breakthrough season by being named Bondi Pilates Young Player of the Year in recognition for her standout performances both domestically with the Glens and on the international stage.

Club stalwart Billy Clarke was honoured with the Linwoods Women’s Football Champion of the Year award, acknowledging his tireless commitment and contribution to the women’s set-up at the Glens.

There was further cause for celebration as striker Emily Wilson, 24, was named PFA Northern Ireland Player of the Year, recognising her performances and goalscoring form throughout the season.

Colin Jess, Chairman of Glentoran Football Club, said: “These awards are a tremendous reflection of the hard work, ambition and quality that run through every part of our women’s set-up. Kim, Billy, Kascie and Emily are outstanding ambassadors for Glentoran and everyone at the Club is delighted to see them recognised for what has been an exceptional season. What they and the rest of the squad have achieved this year is a source of immense pride and they deserve every plaudit that comes their way.”
