Glentoran’s final Sports Direct Premiership game of the season ended in a 6-2 defeat at Coleraine on Saturday evening.
Declan Devine made one change to the side which drew at home to Larne last Friday night with James Singleton coming in for Aaron McEneff.
The Glens got off to the worst possible start as Jordan Stewart caught Lyndon Kane in the box with Will Patching firing home the resulting penalty with only five minutes on the clock.
And the visitors fell further behind on 14 minutes as Levi Ives curled home a superb free-kick from the edge of the box to double the Bannsiders’ lead.
Glentoran finally found their stride with Ryan Cooney curling a free-kick narrowly over before Josh Daniels and Pat Hoban were denied in quick succession, but they couldn’t find a way back into the game before the break.
Their task was made even tougher four minutes after the restart as Patching slotted home another penalty after MJ Kamson-Kamara was adjudged to have fouled Zane Okoro.
The Coleraine midfielder completed his hat-trick before the hour mark with a composed finish past Andrew Mills before Ross Clarke pulled one back for the Glens in the 62nd minute.
Senan Devine and Matthew Shevlin scored for the Bannsiders either side of a Jack Malone goal for the visitors, who finish the campaign in third place.
