Glentoran turned on the style at the BetMcLean Oval, recording an emphatic 11-0 win over JRC Academy in their latest pre-season outing.
After a dominant but measured first-half display, goals from Danny Amos and new signing Daniel Larmour had the Glens 2-0 up at the break. Pat Hoban made his first appearance for the club and impressed with his link-up play alongside Nathaniel Ferris, though there was concern as Frankie Hvid was forced off with a knock before the interval.
The second half brought a flurry of changes and a ruthless attacking performance from the East Belfast side, with last season’s top scorer Jordan Jenkins netting four times and David Fisher grabbing a clinical hat-trick.
Young striker Cal Weatherup, fresh from signing his first professional contract, bagged a well-taken brace, while new arrival Liam Burt also impressed on his first runout of pre-season.
Academy graduates Callan Farley, Ciaran Rogers-Duffy, Luke Chapman and Jude Johnson all looked assured in their contributions, with Farley particularly eye-catching at right-back.
A commanding performance and valuable minutes in the legs as preparations continue ahead of the new campaign.
Full-Time: Glentoran 11–0 JRC Academy
