Glentoran continued their pre-season schedule with a 4–2 victory over Dundela in Tuesday night’s friendly fixture at Wilgar Park.
The match began with a minute’s silence in memory of former physio and lifelong supporter George Magill, respectfully observed by both teams and supporters.
After a bright start that saw Pat Hoban and Jordan Jenkins combine well, Dundela took the lead midway through the first half with a finish that squirmed under Andrew Mills in the Glens goal. Despite chances for Jenkins, Palmer, Amos, Wightman and Burt, the Glens went into the break trailing.
At half-time, Glentoran introduced David Fisher, Charlie Lindsay and Dylan Connolly in place of Hoban, Wightman and Burt.
Jenkins levelled with a powerful header from a pinpoint Danny Amos cross before Fisher edged Glentoran in front, converting after good work down the right from Connolly. Palmer then added a third with a composed strike from just inside the box.
Further changes saw Christie Pattisson, Owen O’Neill and Jude Johnson replace Amos, Shane McEleney and Marcus Kane. Dundela pulled a goal back before Pattisson rounded off the scoring with a thunderous finish.
Another valuable run-out for Declan Devine’s side as preparations continue ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
We thank Dundela for hosting the fixture and wish them the very best for the season ahead.
