Glentoran kept the pressure on league leaders Larne thanks to a convincing 5-0 win over Dungannon Swifts at the BetMcLean Oval.

After a nervy start Jordan Stewart eased the tension when he slotted home his 10th goal of the season on 19 minutes.

A quickfire double from Aaron McEneff and Josh Daniels on 33 and 35 minutes put the hosts in control before the break.

Daniel Larmour added a fourth on 53 minutes before Jordan Jenkins came off the bench to wrap things up for the Glens on 86 minutes.

Declan Devine made one change to the side which won at Cliftonville in midweek with Jack Malone getting the nod over James Singleton.

It was the visitors who carved out the first opportunity with two minutes gone but Andrew Mills saved Adam Glenny’s effort.

The keeper had to be alert again on 16 minutes to keep out a Tiernan Kelly effort.

The Glens edged in front three minutes later as Stewart fired home the rebound after McEneff’s initial effort was saved by Alex Henderson.

That goal settled the home side and they doubled their lead from the penalty spot on 33 minutes as McEneff was brought down by Henderson with the striker converting the resulting spot kick.

And they made it 3-0 two minutes later as Daniels fired home from Ryan Cooney’s cross to all but seal the spoils with 45 minutes still to come.

The goals kept coming in the second half with Larmour adding a fourth in the 53rd minute with a first-time volley from a McEneff cross.

Daniels could have added a fifth with six minutes to go but he fired over.

However the hosts weren’t to be denied as Jenkins added to the score line a minute after entering the action with a great finish to wrap up a good day for the Glens.
