Glentoran goalkeeper Dániel Gyollai is the Sports Direct Premiership Player of the Month for October.
Big Dan enjoyed a fine month for the Glens, producing a stunning display in the shock 3-1 win over Linfield at Windsor Park and keeping a clean sheet against Dungannon Swifts. He said of his award: "I'm enjoying my time at The Bet McLean Oval. This is one of the best clubs I've been at. We're working hard, but results haven't always come our way. We need to change that. On a personal level, it's nice to win an individual prize but as a goalkeeper you don't sign for a club to win awards, you sign to help the team win games. That's my aim for the rest of the season."
Gyollai's Glentoran teammate and housemate Frankie Hvid was runner-up.
Manager Declan Devine said of Dan’s win: "Daniel has been outstanding since he joined us in the summer form since he came here, particular in September, has been outstanding and he’s been fully appreciated by our supporters who’ve taken him to their hearts very quickly. He has looked very secure and is a source of confidence to the players in front of him. I'm delighted the football writers have given him this deserved recognition. I’m also very pleased that Frankie has featured so highly in their thoughts. His form has also merited that recognition.”
