Contract Extension for McClean

Fri, 18/10/2019 - 11:48

Glentoran FC is delighted to announce that our central defender Patrick McClean has signed a two-year extension to his contract. This means that Patrick (22) has now committed himself to Glentoran until at least the end of the 2021/22 season.

Head Coach Mick McDermott said of Patrick: “I’m delighted to have such a talented young player commit himself to our club long term. This shows how well Paddy has bought into what we are working towards here. It shows his commitment to the club and sends a clear message to the Glentoran Family that we are doing what we said we would – building a squad, a club and a future. Paddy has a great future at Glentoran and possibly at a much higher level.”

Patrick said of his contract extension: “I’m very happy to have signed to stay with Glentoran for at least another two seasons. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far. I said it was a very easy decision to join Glentoran and it was just as easy to agree a longer contract. So, I’m looking forward to progressing and helping Glentoran Football Club get right back to where it belongs. We’re definitely on the right track”.

Patrick joined the club from Derry City during the close season. So far, he has played in all our Danske Bank Premiership matches, scoring one goal, the recent late winner v Warrenpoint Town.
