Glentoran Football Club has announced that talented young defender Callan Farley has joined NIFL Championship side Warrenpoint Town on loan until 1st January 2026.
The 19-year-old Academy graduate returns to Milltown, where he enjoyed a highly successful spell during the second half of last season, making 14 appearances as Warrenpoint Town lifted the NIFL Premier Intermediate League title and secured promotion.
Farley made his senior debut for Glentoran in a 4–0 win over Crusaders in April 2024 and also featured in the European Play-Off semi-final against Coleraine. He will now continue his development with the opportunity to play regular Championship football, regarded as the next step in his progression.
Declan Devine, Glentoran First Team Manager, said: “Callan is a player we rate very highly at Glentoran and this move comes at the right step in his career. He benefitted greatly from his time at Warrenpoint last season and returning there gives him the platform to build on that experience with regular Championship football.
“This is the next stage in his development and a valuable opportunity for him to keep progressing in a competitive environment. He has all the qualities we want in a Glentoran player and we will be monitoring his progress closely ahead of his return in January.”
Having joined the Glentoran Academy in 2019 at the age of 12, Farley has since captained the Seconds and served as vice-captain of Northern Ireland’s Under-18 Schoolboys, helping them lift the Centenary Shield in 2023/24 and earning the Manager’s Player of the Year award.
In the previous season, he was also honoured with the prestigious Frankie Wilson Award for his performances with the Northern Ireland Under-18 Schoolboys.
Glentoran wishes Callan every success during his loan spell at Warrenpoint Town and looks forward to welcoming him back to The BetMcLean Oval in January.
