Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce Box-It as a Charity Partner of the Glentoran Social Partnership, reflecting the local company’s long-standing commitment to the Club and its award-winning community programme.

The new charity partnership follows Box-It’s donation of more than £1,000 in support of the Glentoran Social Partnership’s latest Meal Drive, which delivered over 362 freshly prepared meals to local residents and community organisations across East Belfast.

Since the relaunch in October 2025, more than 1,500 meals have now been delivered.

The most recent delivery saw hot meals provided directly to residents on Glentoran’s community support list, alongside additional meals supplied to the newly formed Titanic Area Community Group.

Further distributions were made to two established East Belfast community organisations and a domestic violence support group, helping to ensure support reached those most in need locally.

The charity partnership follows Box-It’s recently announced renewal as Glentoran’s Official Packaging Partner until the end of the 2026/27 season, extending a relationship that began in 2017.

Box-It’s commitment to the Club and community also continues through its ongoing support of Glentoran’s Inclusion teams, with the Box-It logo proudly displayed on the front of their shirts.

Darren Lockhart, Director at Box-It, said: “We’re proud to support the Glentoran Social Partnership and the impact it continues to make across East Belfast. The Meal Drive is a brilliant example of that work, getting hot meals to people and community organisations who need support, quickly and with real care.

“We were delighted to contribute more than £1,000 towards the latest delivery. Becoming a Charity Partner is a natural next step in our long-standing relationship with Glentoran, and we’re looking forward to continuing to support the Club and the local community in the months ahead.”

The Meal Drive initiative forms part of the Glentoran Social Partnership’s wider community support programme, delivering practical assistance to individuals and families across East Belfast and beyond.

Recent activity has included the delivery of hundreds of toy parcels to families in the days leading up to Christmas, made possible through Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas, alongside the hosting of a dedicated Pensioners’ Christmas Dinner at the BetMcLean Oval.

The Glentoran Social Partnership generates an estimated £2.9 million in social value each year, engaging more than 3,500 people through a wide-ranging programme of community initiatives.

Its work has been recognised with Club Community Initiative of the Year at the 2025 NIFL Football Awards and the Community Impact Award at the 2024 EastSide Awards.

Colin Jess, Chairman of Glentoran, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Box-It as a Charity Partner of the Glentoran Social Partnership, strengthening a relationship that has been a significant part of the Club since 2017. We value everything Box-It do for Glentoran, and it’s especially pleasing to see that support extending directly into our community work.

“Their donation of more than £1,000 helped make our latest Meal Drive possible, supporting the delivery of over 362 freshly prepared meals to residents and community organisations across East Belfast. The Meal Drive is one part of the Social Partnership’s wider work, and support like this, alongside the dedication of our volunteers, helps us reach people who need practical assistance.”
