Bobby Burns has won his second consecutive supporters’ vote and has been named as the January Glentoran Player Of The Month. In a competitive field Bobby won with 44% of all votes cast.
Bobby played in all our league games in January and his assists played a major part in our renaissance under Rodney McAree. He has appeared in 29 of our 32 matches so far this season, firmly establishing himself in the midfield for role he was signed for, after filling in for the injured Marcus Kane at left back for most of last season.
Bobby said to www.glentoran.com: “I am absolutely delighted to win Player of the Month again this month. We have come through a tough period and I look forward to the rest of the games this season with great optimism. It has been nice to chip in with a few assists this month and hopefully I can continue to contribute with goal involvements. Thanks very much to everyone who voted. Boss Rodney McAree said:” Bobby has been fantastic, reliable, hardworking and honest! He has been super in that midfield role, weighing in with assists and good performances. He fully deserves the recognition he has received from the fans.”
Joint runners-up were Shay McCartan and Terry Devlin, with new signing Niall McGinn next in his first month with the club..
