It was with great sadness that we learned at Glentoran of the passing of Mrs Vivienne Jackson, dear wife of our former player and legendary manager Tommy Jackson.

Larne 3-0 Glentoran

Sat, 24/02/2024 - 01:41

A very different experience from last week for Glens supporters as this game against the reigning Sports Direct Premiership Champions was effectively over as a contest from the 39th minute when Larne opened the scoring.

With Paddy McClean still injured, Warren Feeney started with the same 11 that defeated Newry last week. From the outset Larne showed areal urgency and combativeness on and off the ball with Lee Bonis hitting the bar on 9 minutes and Seanan Clucas blocking a shot from Larne’s Mexican midfielder Jaziel Orozco 2 minutes later.

Glentoran 8-2 Newry City

Sat, 17/02/2024 - 22:04

Glens supporters went home a lot happier than of late as a Daire O’Connor hat trick and another double from David Fisher let the way in this demolition of bottom placed Newry City at the Bet McLean Oval.

Aaron McCarey‘s return in goal was the only change in last week’s starting like up but the crowds also welcomed the return of James Singleton to the squad, after missing our last 10 games through injury.

Tomorrow's Gazette

Fri, 16/02/2024 - 15:31

In tomorrow's Glentoran Gazette against Newry City we assess the basement club's progress under new manager Barry Gray and Warren Feeney rues our failure to finish off the opposition in our last couple of games.  The 1923 Committee spring a surprise by agreeing with a certain ex-Irish League manager, Philip Stevenson welcomes a Glentoran Legend back to the Oval and we look at the facts and figures behind the career of one who is very much still part of the squad.  Meanwhile John Grayden has the latest on the debate around Friday night football, assesses the runners and riders as the new Lea
