Please Help Kodi

Thu, 26/07/2018 - 23:58

On a very sad note, one of our young Academy players, Blake Brown who plays for our U10s team, has missed the last couple of months football as his 10 year old sister has been very ill. Heartbreakingly his mum and dad received the news that Kodi has a brain tumour. She is presently in Germany receiving ground breaking treatment not available in the UK.

Glentoran support GoMAD (Go Make a Difference) Tanzania

Thu, 19/07/2018 - 22:51

In July 2018 Peter McCreery (Ruth's Superstore team) travelled to Tanzania with a group of teenagers from NI to volunteer with the charity in Tanzania.

Glentoran FC were asked to make a donation and we were only to happy to send Peter off with a few Home shirts and infant kits from 16/17 season.

Many of our supporters also helped Peter by sponsoring his abseil down Europa hotel on 10th June.  This sponsorship helped cover the costs associated with the trip.

H&W Welders 0 - 2 Glentoran

Sat, 14/07/2018 - 19:32

On a beautiful summer afternoon Glentoran faced H&W Welders at Tillysburn Park in a pre-season friendly. The Glens started brightly with both Robbie McDaid and Marcus Kane going close in the 8th minute. On a hard, uneven surface both teams found it hard to string together any decent passing moves but it was the Glens who looked most likely to score with John McGuigan having a shot blocked on 14 minutes and then Peter McMahon firing wide after being set up by McDaid. McDaid then tried his luck with a 25 yard free kick but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
