From the 31st annual NIFPCC admission programme -
At the April meeting of the NIFPCC the club members had on the agenda the voting of the best Irish League programme for the season 2012-13. Taking into consideration the very disappointing attendances at most of the games the standard of programmes remained quite high. To each club that made the effort to produce a programme we, the members, salute you. A full colour programme was produced by all, priced at two pounds except for Glentoran where the cover price was three pounds. It was refreshing to see Ballinamallard United, just promoted to the Premier League, producing a regular issue and showing the way to Donegal Celtic and Glenavon in that both clubs yet again failed to produce, to our knowledge, anything at all.
The Collectors Club to a man voted the Glentoran Gazette as the number one in the League for the 14th consecutive season. Once again to Philip Stevenson, the editor and to the entire team, many congratulations and we hope that you will continue to set the standard that other clubs might aspire to. The race for second place was quite close with Cliftonville just pipping Linfield. The club members only chose the top three, but all clubs were commended on the standard and in most cases, the improvement from the previous season. A special mention to Ards from the championship and to the club editor, Adrian Monaghan for providing a programme for every home game. Also to Knockbreda for putting together a very splendid production for the irish Cup game versus Glentoran. In closing we would just like to thank all the editors, contributors, advertisers, printers and sellers for continuing to have a match programme available on match day.
All at Glentoran FC would like to add their thanks and appreciation to Philip Stevenson, Clifford Logan and the rest of the Gazette team. Thanks to the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923) for the production and selling of the Gazette and for their generous support of the parent body.
