Glentoran is proud to be a club that looks after its own. With deep roots in our local community, we are committed to supporting the players, staff, volunteers and supporters who make Glentoran so special.
One important part of that care is provided through our Club Chaplain, David Thompson.
David has served Glentoran with dedication since 2002, making him the longest serving Club Chaplain in the Irish League. You will often see him around the BetMcLean Oval on matchdays and at other club events, offering a friendly face and a compassionate presence.
The Club Chaplain provides a listening ear and support in times of stress, crisis, injury or illness. He offers the kind of chat in confidence, or simple care, that can often make all the difference, or connection to further specialist support if neccesary.
You might wish to contact David if you would welcome:
• Someone to listen, encourage and offer support during difficult times.
• Someone to help you or your family through illness, bereavement or personal challenges.
• Someone to visit a loved one who is unwell or in need.
• Someone to conduct a short memorial at the scattering of ashes of a loved one at the Oval.
