Glentoran’s Academy is one of Northern Ireland’s leading youth development programmes, providing hundreds of young players with the opportunity to grow in a professional, inclusive environment.
Established in 2008, the Academy has evolved from a grassroots initiative into a high-performance model aligned with top UK academies. With teams from Under-6 to Under-19, it offers a clear pathway for boys and girls to progress both on and off the pitch.
Recent investment in technology and coaching has raised standards across all age groups. Players benefit from tailored development plans and tools such as Veo, Eyeball analytics and STATSports, alongside strength and conditioning, nutrition and welfare support.
The Elite Scholarship Programme supports a dual pathway of education and elite football. Many graduates have progressed to the Glentoran first team, earned scholarships, or signed with professional clubs.
Academy players regularly train with the senior squad and are mentored by Glentoran’s coaching staff, with first-team manager Declan Devine closely involved in their progression.
In 2025, Glentoran lifted the prestigious Harry Cavan Youth Cup for the first time in over 30 years, a significant achievement that reflects the Academy’s progress and the depth of talent emerging from its ranks.
Whether the goal is professional football, university, or a career in sport, the Glentoran Academy prepares young people for success.
