Glentoran U15  3 - 2 Barn United
Saturday 20th October 2007

The Glentoran Under 15s produced their best performance of the season to date to beat a previously unbeaten Barn United by 3 goals to 2 in a very competitive game.

The “Wee Glens” attacked from the start and soon had their rewards when Darrian Shaw was once again in the right place at the right time to score. Not satisfied with this the Glens continued to press forward and a second goal from Lewis Adair soon followed.  Other chances were created but a series of outstanding saves by the Barn United keeper kept the score at 2 - 0.

At this stage the Glens appeared to relax and in no time at all Barn had scored twice to leave the score 2-2 at half time.

As the second half started the “Wee Glens” again raised their game and following some tenacious play by Gareth McGrattan, he produced a finish to match to give the Glens the lead.

Towards the end Barn pushed forward in search of an equaliser but the Glens defence, well marshalled by Colin Smith and Scott Kane, held strong to see the team safely home.

This was an excellent all round performance by the team and similar performances will be required in the weeks to come.

Team: Neal Edgar, Kyle Armstrong, Lee Carser, Colin Smith, Scott Kane, Conor McGrattan(c) Thomas Floyd, Lewis Adair, Gareth McGrattan, Craig Spiers. Darrian Shaw
Subs
: Johnny Taylor, Chris Maginnes, Patrick Davidson, Scott McDowell, Adam Wilson

Man of the Match. – Given the excellent all round performance of the team it was difficult to pick a man of the match. However it was decided the Lewis Adair and Colin Smith would share the award.
