Glens back anti-online bullying campaign

Fri, 30/04/2021 - 01:14

Glentoran Football Club  is joining forces with NIFL, the IFA and sporting bodies and clubs across the United Kingdom in boycotting social media this weekend, to raise awareness of ongoing online abuse directed towards players and officials.

The boycott begins on Friday at 3pm, running right through until Monday 3rd May at 23.59.

Unfortunately this means that we won’t be able to bring you out normal social media updates on what is a massive Saturday of football, but we will still be streaming the “Big Two” match on Saturday live through GlensTV and 247.media.

Glens support Women's Aid 10k by May

Wed, 17/02/2021 - 23:00

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to support the excellent work done by the employees and volunteers at Women’s Aid, so we are very happy to formally endorse the 10K by May initiative run by Women’s Aid in Belfast and Lisburn. We urge the Glentoran Family to support this cause as only we can, to help mitigate in some way the effects of domestic violence against women and children.

What is 10K by May?

Great Charity Work by young Glenman Jay

Fri, 12/02/2021 - 23:00

9-year-old Glentoran 2011s academy player Jay Fisher took on a huge challenge over the lockdown period as he put his keepy up skills to the test to raise money for a worthy charity, CLIC CLIC SARGENT.

Jay, a sporty boy by nature, usually loves playing football, futsal, rugby and boxing in his spare time. But he didn't quite know what to do with himself when lockdown struck, and he was unable to do all the things that once would have kept him occupied on most days of the week!
