August |
|
We are pleased to announce that Glentoran's
125th Anniversary friendly against Manchester United made history in drawing
the largest ever audience for a Glentoran match. Statistics revealed

Glentoran
represented at U21 International
Wednesday
22
August |
|
Glentoran were well represented at Tuesday's
U21 International game between Northern Ireland and Finland. All
appearing as part of the squad were newcomer Daryl Fordyce, Philip Simpson and
BJ McMenamin with Alan McDonald running the team through their paces.
The match saw Northern Ireland make an
impressive comeback from 1-0 with 2 goals in the final 15 minutes of the
game. A 2-1 win at the Ballymena showgrounds was exactly the right
result for their final warm up game before the U21 European Championship
Qualifiers begin next month.

Lisburn
Distillery vs Glentoran - CIS Insurance Cup
Friday
17
August |
| Following
last week's emphatic win, Alan McDonald leads his team to New Grosvenor to
take on Lisburn Distillery tomorrow. Glentoran made a very clear
statement with their 6-0 win over Armagh City last week and will be eager to
continue such form in their second match of the CIS Insurance Cup group
stages. Lisburn Distillery started their campaign with a 1-1 draw
against Larne, so will be aiming to get their first win and gain valuable
points in order to progress through the group phase of the competition.
Tomorrow's game will see former Glentoran striker Gary Browne face off against
his old team as well as other former Glenmen, Andy Kilmartin and the returning
Darren Armour. This match will be a good test for Glentoran as the new
season begins to heat up.
