On Saturday we play one of the biggest games of the season so far when Crusaders come to the Oval in the Quarter Final of the Sadler’s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup.
Glentoran were denied all three points at a windswept Mourneview Park this afternoon due to a penalty save by Jonny Tuffey and a bizarre goal from Aaron Harmon.
For the third week running the Danske Bank Premiership games were played in shocking conditions with strong winds and occasional heavy showers once again the order of the day.
Joe Crowe and Jessica Foy represented Glentoran at the National Stadium at Windsor Park, as Danske Bank and the NI Football League announced the extension of their partnership for another three years, in a record breaking deal for the league.
Amid one of the most exciting title races in years, the partnership is currently in its eighth season of sponsorship and will bring Danske Bank into a decade of successfully leading at the forefront of football in Northern Ireland.
It is with great regret and sadness that we confirm the passing of lifelong Glenman and long serving member of the Ballymac GSC, Roy Miller.
Roy served as Chairman of the Ballymac for several years in the early 1990s when the club was based in the Oval. He was a very active member of players’ benefit committees from the era of Raymond Morrison and George Neill through to the latter days of Colin Nixon and Paul Leeman, and the value of his hard work and input value was consistently appreciated by all the recipient players. He was also President of the First Newtownards GSC

On Saturday we face Glenavon for the second time in just over three weeks but visit Mourneview Park for the first time since the opening day of the season, six months ago.
Glentoran were disappointed not to take all 3 points in this game but also could have lost it right at the death. Elliott Morris was back in goal, making his 737th appearance for the Glens whilst at the other end of the pitch, recent signing Ruaidhri Donnelly was making his debut.
It’s Friday night football this week but your usual multi-award winning Glentoran Gazette. John Grayden reports from the midweek meeting at the Oval on Kieran Lucid’s All Island League proposals, gets the latest from first team coach Paul Millar and tells how the Glens’ delayed stadium plans have drawn attention in a somewhat unexpected place. Eddy Patrick has been another busy member of the team this week, chatting to another of our coaches, Kieran Harding, as well as 250 Club member Andy Mathieson. Brian McClelland tells us about meeting one of his Glentoran heroes, Stephen Lowry bring
Friday 14 February 2020, Kick Off 7.45pm
On Friday we look to return to winning ways with the visit of eighth placed Carrick Rangers to the Oval in the Danske Bank Premiership.
We have played and beaten Rangers twice so far this season, firstly in October at home, when two goals from Robbie McDaid and one from Hrvoje Plum gave us a 3-1 home win. In December we played a very tight match at the Belfast Loughshore Arena, with the teams only separated by a second half goal from Navid Nasseri.

A 1-nil defeat to Cliftonville back on 4th October 2019 was the last time Glentoran suffered a home defeat but in today's Danske Bank Premiership fixture we went down to the same scoreline.
