Thu, 12/08/2021 - 20:00

Glentoran’s close season transfer dealings continued today with two departures from the Oval. one permanent and one on loan.

Cricky Gallagher has joined Cliftonville for an undisclosed fee. Cricky was signed for the club by Ronnie McFall in August 2018. In his three seasons here he made 93 appearances in midfield, scoring one goal, at Solitude against his new club. Cricky was a member of the Glens’ Sadler’s Peaky Blinders Irish Cup winning team in 2020-21 season.

Mick McDermott: “Chris played his part in our project over the past two years and we thank him for that.,This is the business of football. Circumstances change, decisions must be made and players move on.

I wish Chris the best for this next step in his career”.

Dayle Coleing has left Glentoran to return to his native Gibraltar to join League Champions Lincoln Red Imps on loan. Dayle joined Glentoran in August 2020, making 26 appearances to date for the club, the most recent in our away UEFA Europa Conference matches with The New Saints. We wish Dayle all the very best while at Lincoln Red Imps.

Mick McDermott: “We have agreed a loan deal with Lincoln Red Imps for this season. Several clubs were chasing Dayle the past month or so and we have taken our time to decide on the best deal for Glentoran and the future of the player.

Dayle remains a Glentoran player for the next 2 seasons.

I wish Dayle every success at Lincoln and with the Gibraltar national team. He is a talented and honest player and, no doubt, has a bright future ahead”.
