Glentoran today announced that Stephen Carson will leave the Club by mutual consent. In a joint statement the Club and the Player were keen to emphasise that this was the result of very amicable discussions over the past number of weeks.
Glentoran Chairman Terence Brannigan said “Stephen has been the ultimate professional during his time with Glentoran and has earned the respect of the playing staff, the Board and the whole Glentoran family both on and off the pitch. Stephens’s departure will allow him to pursue other options and at the same time help with the continuing financial restructuring at the Club.”
Stephen Carson stated “I have really appreciated my time with Glentoran and was delighted to pick up an Irish Cup medal as part of this team. The fans here have always been very supportive and I would like to express my thanks to them, the team and to the Board.”
Terence Brannigan also added “I know I speak for everyone associated with Glentoran to thank Stephen for his contribution to the Club as we worked through some difficult times in the past year and wish him well for the future”
