Warrenpoint Town 0-4 Glentoran

Sat, 02/11/2019 - 21:04

When we last faced Warrenpoint Town a number of weeks ago at the Oval we dominated the first half and should have led by more than a solitary goal at the interval. In the second half 'Point punished our wayward finishing and grabbed an equaliser. They were ultimately denied however by a very late goal from Patrick McClean.

Saturday's Danske Bank fixture at Milltown once again saw Glentoran dominate the opening 45 minutes. On this occasion however we scored four goals without reply and there would be no reply from the South Down outfit.

Bertie Wright: My First 100 Years

From conversations with Brian McClelland.

I was born in St Leonard’s Street on the Newtownards Road on 23rd October 1919.  One hundred years ago it may be, but my memory remains undimmed.  When I was very young my family moved to the Portadown area.  My father had been all through the First World War and had suffered from gas poisoning.  On doctor’s advice we moved out of the city to County Armagh for the fresh country air.  Sadly, my father died when I was just five years old.
