Player News: Stevie Gordon leaves Glentoran

Sat, 03/07/2021 - 01:48

Steven Gordon has ended nine years at Glentoran and joined Carrick Rangers permanently on the expiry of his contract this week.

Lifelong Glenman Stevie joined his boyhood club from Glenavon in the 2012 close season. He made his first team debut at the end of December 2012 in a comprehensive 5-0 home league win over Donegal Celtic.

Stevie made a total 161 first team appearances, scoring 22 goals from midfield. He was a key member of Eddie Patterson's team that won the Irish Cup in 2015, winning a second winner's medal this time last year as a substitute in our final victory over Ballymena United.

There will be a more comprehensive tribute article to Stevie and his strong service to Glentoran over the weekend.

Best wishes for the future Stevie. You will be much missed around the Oval and we all look forward to seeing you back as a supporter.
