Official Charity for 2015/16 season

Tue, 30/06/2015 - 18:47

Glentoran is very pleased to partner Reverse Rett for season 2015/16. Commercial Director Simon Kitchen said "At this time of economic difficulty in Northern Ireland  it is vital that we all play our part in maximising public awareness of the impact of such illnesses and of the need for public support in developing and making vital treatment available to those who need it. Community based football clubs such as Glentoran are increasingly aware of their own responsibility as local community icons."

Andy Stevenson, Co-founder, Fundraising and Communications Manager for Reverse Rett commented
"We are delighted to have been chosen by Glentoran Football Club to be their official charity of the year. Glentoran are a team with a rich history with deep roots in the local community. Reverse Rett is a charity founded in 2010 by parents of girls suffering with Rett Syndrome. We receive no government funding and our support comes mainly from families living with this awful condition. We are extremely grateful to the families of Mia and Sofia who have worked so hard to raise the profile of Reverse Rett in Belfast and to Glentoran for getting on board with our search for a cure".

Rett Syndrome has already been reversed in the lab and clinical trials to alleviate symptoms have already begun
