Alan Kernaghan’s search for a first win continues tomorrow as his side host Glenavon at the Oval.

Although the new manager collected his first point in charge after last week’s home draw to Dungannon Swifts, he is yet to taste victory at the helm.

Jonathan Smith equalised for the Glens to claim a share of the spoils after Andy Mitchell headed the Swifts in front.  The result ended a run of seven successive league defeats for Rodney McAree’s men.

Kernaghan returns to the Oval dugout this week with the intention of taking all three points on offer, but faces a Gary Hamilton side that is brimming with confidence after an impressive victory over Linfield to remain undefeated in the league since October.

The former Glens striker has enjoyed great success against his old club as manger and the Lurgan Blues head into tomorrow’s game unbeaten against the East Belfast side in their previous four meetings.

The clubs cancelled each other out the last time they met in late August in a game that the Glens battled hard to earn a point and their first clean sheet of the campaign.

With seven points separating the teams in the table, the Glens will be looking to close the gap with a win as their opponents sit one place above them.

Striker Curtis Allen will be welcomed back after the club's top goal scorer was suspended for the Dungannon game following a dismissal in the Glens League Cup defeat the previous Wednesday evening.

However, the East Belfast side will be without Conor McMenamin through injury, although he is close to returning. Jay Magee returned for the Seconds last weekend and could come in to the squad.
