Following recent speculation and the formal announcement by the IFA, Glentoran FC confirms that the club will do everything in its power to work with the IFA to make the forthcoming Irish Cup Final at the Oval the best possible occasion for all supporters of both competing clubs.
Further to our Chairman and manager’s weekend comments to the media, we reiterate that our preferred option would have been to have the final played at the state of the art and publicly funded Kingspan Stadium (Ravenhill) here in our East Belfast heartland. This would have allowed attendance to be maximised for both Glentoran and Portadown supporters and for neutrals from across the football community. We regret that this option was apparently not seriously considered by the IFA and have therefore made the Oval available as the only other feasible option in Northern Ireland, albeit at an unacceptably low capacity. However with current “safe” capacity at the Oval this will have a significant detrimental financial impact on both clubs and we will seek to have this matter addressed.
We assure Glentoran and Portadown supporters that we will work closely with the IFA to ensure that every reasonable step is taken to maximise ticket availability and stadium capacity for both sets of supporters. To that end the club has fought against and achieved a relaxation of the IFA's desire to enforce allocated seating and have been provided an allocation of tickets to sell directly to our week in, week out fans. We have achieved an agreement to waive any admin fees for our core support purchasing from the club directly.
Unfortunately the meeting between the 2 clubs and the IFA on Monday yielded no concrete information on capacity or ticket allocation but we are pleased to confirm the following prices for tickets:
Irish Cup Final 2015 Tickets
Irish Cup final 2015 tickets will be available for purchase by Shareholders and Season Ticket Holders, Vice Presidents and Life Members ONLY.
The Glentoran Superstore will open from
9:30am - 2pm on Saturday 18th April
10am - 5pm on Sunday 19th April.
This will be the only opportunity for Shareholders and Season ticket holders to buy tickets from the Superstore. After these dates/times tickets are available via Ticketmaster.

Season Tickets MUST be produced at time of purchase.
A further announcement will be made for a general sale date.

Tickets cannot be held over or reserved.
It was agreed that both ourselves and Portadown can request tickets from Ticketmaster via the IFA. Means and time of purchase have already been announced above and, as clarified on social media today, each season ticket holder will be eligible to buy one additional Cup Final ticket at the Oval (ie 2 tickets maximum for each season ticket) .
We are delighted with Eddie and our young team’s achievement in reaching the Irish Cup Final and will do everything in our power to ensure that the boys receive the strongest possible support on the day from all of the Glentoran family.
