Glentoran attend Twitter workshop

Thu, 30/10/2014 - 01:09

The Northern Ireland Football League has held a workshop for clubs who want to improve and enhance their visibility and fan engagement on Twitter.

Facilitated by Alex Trickett, Head of Sport, Twitter UK, clubs from the Danske Bank Premiership and Belfast Telegraph Championship were given an insight into the practices used by clubs, associations and players from all around the world.

Graeme Beggs, NIFL Marketing and Communications Manager, was delighted with the event and the number of ideas generated.  “With digital communications an area that continues to develop at an alarming rate, Alex was able to provide not only successful fan engagement ideas but the majority of these can be implemented using very little or no budget at all,” said Beggs.

“Currently the combined social reach of our clubs exceeds 100,000 followers and I have no doubt that after this Twitter workshop we will see an increase in fan engagement activities which should result in more fans following and hopefully supporting our clubs.”
