Glens Fans donate to suicide charity

Wed, 17/11/2021 - 20:22

PIPS Suicide Prevention Charity have said a massive thank you to everyone involved in a Ballymacarrett Glentoran Supporters Club fundraising night. It was a tremendous success with a total of £827 raised.

The evening was arranged by Glentoran fans Kylie King, Tori Hill and Dylan Gray (pictured above donating the cheque to Renee Quinn of PIPS).

Kylie said of the event: “Almost two years ago me and my sister Tori Hill decided to team up with Dylan Gray to raise funds for a very worthy cause. Dylan was already highlighting the need for awareness of mental health in our male population within the Irish league community and I jumped on board with a leg waxing fundraising night. The night was a great success with many volunteers stepping forward to be waxed by myself and Tori and we raised £827. So earlier this month we had Renee Quinn from our chosen charity PIPS come along to receive our donation and highlight the need for support from local communities to continue doing the fantastic work they do. I’m delighted knowing that the money we raised could potentially help save a life. Again I would like to thank all the members from The Ballymac GSC for helping us organise the event, and to all those who donated a massive thank you to you all.”

Great work by the team and how appropriate the cheque was presented during the first ever Glens Men’s Month.
