Dungannon vist Oval this Weekend

Fri, 26/09/2014 - 19:08

Victories are proving hard to come by in the Danske Bank Premiership for Glentoran this season but performances haven't quite been as poor. The team have played well and with a little more luck in front of goal and composure in the latter stages of games Glentoran could be sitting far better in the current table. As it lies, Glentoran are in 8th position on just 11 points from 9 games having drawn four of our last six games. Despite that we are only 6 points off the top, 3 behind champions Cliftonville and 2 behind biggest rivals Linfield. It has been a very entertaining season thus far with points being gained and dropped by all teams meaning a little bit of momentum and a few wins could change Glentoran fortunes around very quickly.

Glentoran's only injury news sees Barry Holland and Jay Magee remain out of contention. Kym Nelson made a goalscoring return in Tuesday night's Co Antrim Shield and Elliott Morris also returning to first team duty as well.

Our visitors Dungannon Swifts currently sit in 10th position in the table with only one win to their name all season. They performed very well at Solitude against Cliftonville last week getting a late draw from a Ryan Brown own goal to keep their points total ticking over. To go to the champions and play with such confidence will make Dungannon tough opposition tomorrow so expect them to come to The Oval looking to bring points back across the M1.

Our visitors have four injuries with Stefan Lavery, Ryan Harpur, Sean McCashin and Abiola Sansui all missing.

Tomorrow's game will be a 3pm kick off at The Oval
