Cliftonville v Glentoran

Fri, 30/01/2015 - 21:05

The Glens and the Reds meet in the Danske Bank Premiership for the third time this season with Glentoran yet to taste defeat. A win would bring Eddie Patterson's side level on points with Cliftonville who currently occupy fourth place in the league table.

On the opening day of the season the two sides met at Solitude and the Glens held the champions to a goalless draw (highlights from that game are on BBC Sport NI HERE ).

A week before Christmas the two teams faced each other at the Oval. McDaid gave the Reds an early lead but David Scullion brought the glens level before the interval. The game was still locked at 1-all deep into stoppage time when Danny McKee latched on to a long ball from Elliott Morris and cooly lobbed it over Conor Devlin to give the East Belfast side all 3 points (highlights from that game are on BBC Sport NI HERE ).

Since then though Cliftonville have put two of the four domestic trophies available, the Co. Antrim Shield and the League Cup, in their trophy cabinet and Glentoran will no doubt expect another tough contest on Saturday.

Finally - we would remind all Glentoran supporters travelling to tomorrow's game of the advice issued by the PSNI HERE
