Match Report

Photographs
Having fought back from 1-0 in heir two previous games, Glentoran failed to do so tonight at the cold Limavady Showgrounds.  The game saw very few chances for the Glens but the closest coming from the head of Michael Ward as the ball drifted just over the bar from all of 4 yards.

Limavady took the lead just after half time, on the 48th minute a Trevor McLernon free kick met the head of Ryan McIlmoyle who touched the ball past Elliot Morris.

Adding to the disappointment, the Glens had young right-back Jamie McGovern taken off with a calf injury and Kyle Neill sent off after an unfortunate hand-ball.

This result rounded off a bitterly disappointing week for the Glens which saw Tim McCann forced to retire due to a knee ligament injury.

Alan McDonald will now be rallying the troops for the upcoming crucial Christmas period which will see the Glens face all of the top title contenders.
